She started out super skittish and all “I’m going to hide under my bed mmkay?”, but she’s really warmed up to the idea of humans over the last week. Justine actually taught her to fetch today. It’s crazy watching a kitten return to you with a wad of aluminum foil in her mouth. As for Winnie… oh my lord, she’s a freaking cuddle machine. I can’t get enough of these KITTEHS! ahhhalskdfjalksdjl.
In other news, my college acceptance count is now 5 for 6. My first (and hopefully only) rejection came last week. One more month to wait until I can make a decision. I’m so busy researching the programs at schools and planning campus visits. May is going to fly by.

Today - 11-hour flight to Japan! (TSA please don’t take my knitting needles)
4/12 - arrive in Tokyo. We’re doing an uber-touristy 6-day tour.
4/16 - flight from NRT to TPE Taiwan! My mom has seekrit plans that I think involve hiking? eek.
4/20 - fly home to good old LAX

Good morning! I’m putting off my papers, yet again.

I was hit with that terrible cold that’s been going around. Yes, the one that starts with a sore throat and ends with you on your back, breaking ribs as you cough up your lungs. I missed a week of classes and have caught up in all but one, my dreaded English class. Writing papers is the bane of my existance. Really.

I feel much better and I think it’s because I’ve been trying to sleep on a more regular schedule. Nine hours of sleep FTW!

In other news, I was rear-ended again in February. I’m okay, and for the most part, my car is okay. The rear bumper has an imprint of the license plate of the woman that hit me. Her insurance company is taking eons to get the repair processed; it’s been four weeks already!

It’s mid-March and that means college acceptance letter season! I’m finally transferring out of a junior college after four (count ‘em, F-O-U-R) years of indecision and waffling between majors. I feel like I shouldn’t talk about it because it’ll get jinxed, but so far I’m 4 for 4… but my top choices won’t release decisions until way later. Here’s to waiting out the rest of this long semester…

Spring Break will provide a short reprieve. I’m making a stop in Japan and then off to “the homeland”: Taiwan! This excites me to no end because I haven’t been back since I was four years old. I’m looking forward to visiting the night markets, the 101 building, and eating all the FOOD! DELIGHTFUL FOOD!

I swerve, but too late- my tire slams into the edge of it. My car makes a really bad “whomp” noise, so I think that I’ve just scratched the front lip (my car has a lower clearance because of the body kit), but I pull over to check just in case. As soon as I walk over to the passenger side, I can hear the air hissing out of the front tire, and I watch as my poor baby sinks towards the asphalt.

I call AAA to change my tire for me. (I guess technically, I could have changed the tire myself, but I doubt my chicken arms have the strength) I wait for half an hour until 2 (count ‘em, 2!!) tow trucks show up. Apparently, another car (a Porsche Cayenne SUV!!) hit the exact same pothole after me.

So the AAA guy proceeds to change my tire, but not without answering his phone first. Hm. I drive on to Canter’s with my tiny donut of a spare, being careful not to exceed 50 mph.
